Back in 2015, there wasn’t much to write about. Today, we have several game titles to play on Nintendo Switch that don’t even cost a penny. Some of them are great while the other are to be avoided to save storage on your switch and your time (most importantly).
To save you from the hassle, I will be talking about only the best free-to-play games on Nintendo Switch. If you’re playing online games, especially as a Spanish speaker, having a reliable connection and customer support from Xfinity en español makes the experience worthwhile. If that sounds good to you, keep on reading to find out more about the games.
4 Best Free Nintendo Switch Games
1.Rocket League
If you love racing as well as soccer-related games, then Rocket League’s absolute chaos is tailor-made for you.
This is one of the best free games that you can play on your Nintendo Switch. It’s a multiplayer game, and in each team, eight members have to defend the goals and score the goals by using cars. I have been playing whenever I have friends come over, and the chaos it creates is definitely worth it.
The thing I like the most about the Rocket League is that its developer, Psyonix, keeps it nice and fresh with new updates and funny car skins.
It’s one of those games that anyone can play, but mastering it is a totally different story. Anyway, since it is an easy-to-play game, even a rookie like myself can have so much fun, provided that there is no interruption with the internet connection.
2.Fortnite
You might have heard of this one already from the PC gamers. Fortnite is available to play on the Nintendo Switch as well.
It used to be a common Battle Royale game, but now developers have turned it into a universe of its own. You get to play games, you can watch live concerts on it, and the themes – they are on another level.
If we talk about its gameplay, it’s like any other battle royale game, like PUBG, but with a twist of building blocks. Winning the game is simple: just remain alive out of the 100 players on the battlefield. But doing that is the most difficult part of the game. Once you land on the battlefield, the circle starts to get smaller with time, and at the end, if you are camping, don’t, because there isn’t enough space to hide from the enemies.
One of the most loved things about Fortnite is its gun skins and characters. For example, the last season had this Avatar skin, which was polarizing. I mean, some people loved it while others hated it. I was one of those who loved it.
Please note that playing Fortnite is free, but acquiring the skins I just talked about is not. You need to pay for the Battle Pass or pay for the individual skins via the game currency.
Anyhow, it is arguably the best shooting game that you can play for free on your Switch.
3.Fallout Shelter
One of the most underrated free-to-play games on Nintendo Switch is Fallout Shelter. While a TV series of the same name, Fallout, may have brought attention to the Fallout Shelter game, but it was a tie-in with Fallout 4. Now it runs as an independent game.
Let’s talk about gameplay for a while: you have to be a manager of the game’s most prestigious vault. You will be feeding the dwellers of the vault, you will be sending them off to fight on your behalf, and create more facilities. It is not an intensive game, so you will be fine playing it casually.
Although it is a free game, if you want to be an ultimate player of the game, you might need to spend some bucks to unlock new dwellers, weapons, and resources. Another cool paid resource is Nuka-Cola Quantum, which will boost the activities.
All in all, it’s one of the best and most underrated games that you can play on your Nintendo Switch.
4.Warframe
Last but not least, we have Warframe in our list.
If you liked Star Wars and you love sci-fi-based games, then Warframe is for you. The game revolves around third-person combat and exploring new planets.
This game is so addictive that you will be lost playing it for hours. I love the fact that this game keeps on evolving through new updates. Warframe is a free-to-play game, but you might need to spend some money to get the cool new skins and cosmetics.
So, that’s it. These are the best games that you’d have fun playing. They are great for killing time while waiting in a queue or getting bored at home.
